I have a new google group to serve as a forum!
This is intended to be a support forum and is open to the public. I am working on getting it set up completely, but it's up and running and has two threads started already! Feel free to join! As you can see, the post title is a link! I just found this capability on my template, and the link is to the homepage of my group!
Now, on to other business, If you want to post comments here on my blog, you have to register with blogger as I don't allow anonymous posts anymore due to spamming problems in the comment section. ]
To Fatty:
I just want to post a little bit about zen and cycling! You know you're in the zone when you get so far inside the ride you blank out and find yourself miles down the road! You are alert, and responsive, but in the zone is all that is! This is to be desired when you are on a long ride and I find as I get stronger in my riding, I find this state easier to achieve.
To Caloi:
You are welcome here anytime! Feel free to comment or email me! My blog is RSS syndicated through AtomXML
See Y'all later! Happy Halloween!

Halloween is near and the ghoulies and wights gimbal and gyre
Yes, it's Halloween and who better for a good picture on Halloween than Hieronomous Bosche? As the chains rattle and the winds howl like a wolf at the door, and the tree branches scratch at the window pane like skeletal hands trying to reach out and clutch you, what is that cold feeling at the back of your neck, making your hairs rise up? There's a knock on your door and when you peer out the peephole, you don't see anyone there. You go back toward your chair and the knock happens again! You go back and look and this time you see a figure in a white shroud. You hear those most feared words........."Trick or treat!"
Yes, it's that time of year again, people, where children shamble through the night, tripping over the ghost sheet with eyeholes cut out that they can't see through anyway, (hence the shambling!) in quest of candy and ware the fool who doesn't stock up! Drive carefully and watch for kids tripping over their costumes and FOR GOD'S SAKE, STOCK UP ON CANDY OR FACE THE TRICK PART OF THE EQUATION!

A Chilly Ride This Morning
I'm all bundled up here, riding off to school to work in the computer lab( A good excuse for a ride!). It's 30 degrees this morning, just a nice crispness to the air! Feels like late Fall! It's surprising how much stronger I'm getting, the rides are getting easier and easier! I barely notice the upgrades anymore. I found a road bike I want to get, it's an old classic!~ 1970's Schwinn Continental, in like new shape, going to be $40.00, not bad huh? This bike is absolutely the right frame size and top tube length for me and should stand me in good stead on my Summer ride. My goal is Key West, Fl, and the only thing that will stop me; unfortunately, is finance! I'm trying to figure this out now. I have my route planned out 95% and am feeling good about the ride. Over the winter, I'll be riding a stationary bike at the IVTech fitness room as well as strength training and treadmill. Gotta keep that workout going, right? Well, enough rattling on for now! See y'all later!

"I ain't got no body!"
Top is fairly recent, and the bottom left is my before, bottom right is my most recent picture, do ya see the weight loss? Just wanted to update those of you following my blog, as of my last weighin the weight loss was 280 pounds! I've been getting a rash of "head" jokes in my comments and I have absolutely no idea why! I guess with all that's going on in college right now, what with 7 days to prep and give a collaborative presentation, one of my group dropping class, and no rehearsal time! I guess I lost my head! The presentation went better than I expected, with good interest in what we were saying. Now I have a week to find a research paper topic, set up the bibliography and have the first draft in on it! This will be 50% of my semester grade! YIKES! Oh well, I have faith in myself that I'll pull it off! It'll be fun. Well, that's all for now and Carolyn, yes, I listen to the Talking Heads!::GRIN::

Family update reference Wilma! WOOOHOOOO!
I'm happy to say my family is safe and damage seems to have been minimal at the most. No VISIBLE structural damage reported, however that's from the neighbors. My parents haven't seen inside the house and won't til tomorrow sometime. Here's hoping for the best. At least they still have a house to go to! All to the good and all that! Gonna be a short post as it's midterms for two more classes and I'm swamped with homework! See y'all later! By the way, check out my new pic! I think I shrank a little bit?

Hurricane Wilma
Hurricane Wilma is headed toward my family in South Florida. Everyone is safe though, my parents evacuated from Naples and Gramps is in a safe facility at least to a cat4 hurricane with generators and a 4 week food and water supply. Remember the Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org as Wilma hits south Florida as well as the other relief organizations I have listed in prior posts. Now on to me! Weight loss, 280 pounds and I'm planning a ride this morning as soon as it gets warm enough. I'm going for 10 miles today. Should be a nice ride! Well, see y'all later!

We walked the Wabash Heritage Trail today!
These are images from my Wife and my hike today on the Wabash Heritage Trail outside of Lafayette, IN. If you want forther information about this trail, which runs from Battleground, IN to Fort Quiatenon, just south of West Lafayette, IN along the Wabash River, you can get information at http://www.indianatrails.org
In the second picture, you see my wife by a tree near the trail, note the size of the tree! This tree probably predates the Revolutionary war by 100 years or so!

I started a new Yahoo Group.
The URL of my group is posted below: http://health.yahoo.com/group/theamazingshrinkingman so if you want to take a look, among other things I've uploaded a power point presentation there on eating disorders. If you want to check it out, that's where it is! The group is going to be an open forum..as long as the spam filter holds. It will be moderated for content, however, so don't join and post sapm either because you will be banned for that. The subject is dealing with the issues of eating disorders whether they be neuro-chemically based like mine ot behaviorally based. I have links to places like St Vincent Bariatric center in Carmel, IN and will be posting other links as I verify their credentials as to validity. My primary sources of information will be the National Institute on Mental Health(NIMH) and the American Psychiatric Society and the AMA. I will not be giving medical advice other than referring you to your doctor. I WILL to the best of my abilities try to give you accurate and reputable information from verifiable academic and professional sources.

Well, good evening all!
Just a little post to let you all know I'm still on the planet! Things are going well in school and I'm preparing for my big presentation for Psychology 101. I chose eating disorders, imagine that! Big surprise there, huh? Well, I put together a really nice power point presentation. My first time working with this program. Well actually, I used Impress and saved it as a Power Point. I use open office myself! All the features of Microsoft office and 0% of the cost! That's right, it's a free linux base office suite and it's great! If I know how to put the presentation in my post I would so you could comment on it, but I don't! Anyone out there know how to do it?

Blogtag results
Here is the sentence group( At least the best I could come up with!):
These results are from Carolyn @ The Ginger Quill
Peg @ Peg's Pen
Blogger unknown
Kris @ Baby likes Cabbage
Anonymous @ inthefilipines
In position, He's been on a grumpy, drooly teething jag of late and I've been trying to get my fingers in there to look for signs of a tooth hole, but he refuses to let me look, the thing is he's dead!
How's that for a bizzarre sentence construct!

Blogger tag strikes "The Amazing Shrinking Man"!
Well, Peg over at "Peg's Pen" just tagged me! OK, here are the rules!
1) Find your 23rd post, and then identify the fifth sentence.
2) Post that sentence on your blog!
3) I need to add 2 exceptions to the 23rd post rule! If your blog is too young for 23 posts, use the 5th post and the sentence containing the 23rd WORD in your blog! This also applies if you are tagged and the 23rd post has already been done by a previous tagging!
My victims are as follows:
Anonymous at "In the Filipines" aka my Kid Brother!
Blogger unknown
Carolyn at the Ginger Quill! (My revenge for starting this off!)
Baby loves Cabbage
Peg at "Pegs Pen"
My 23rd post, 5th sentence is "If you are wondering, breakfast is one ounce of meat and an egg". This was Monday, May 9th, 2005
