I thought I'd tanked on an Algebra test!

I thought I had! As it turned out, I got 25/30 possible! Talk about a surprise! That made me feel a bit better, but I suffer from severe test anxiety here! Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with it? I can know what I need to know backwards, forward, and sideways until that blank piece of paper is sitting in front of me and the clock is ticking! Then my brain locks up and goes BLANK! Ideas would be appreciated!

OOOh! I like anonymous's answer.
I always tell my student's to take a deep breath, relax, and then don't look at it like it is a test, look at it like you are just answering questions you all ready know and how fun it is to see how fast you can write it down.
But then T, I work with much younger minds! And then I also remind them that all I ask is that they do the best they can and that is what makes me proud of them, not the grade, but the effort!
I sure hope that helps!
But I do like anonymous's answer so much better! ;-0}

A big thanks to my kid brother!
Also a thank you to Peg! By the way, Peg, the test I was stressing over? I hit a solid, Fat B! I'll take it! Part of the problem I think is I was feeling a bit overwhelmed! I'm carrying 18 hours this semester! Ouch! I don't think I'll be doing that again!::BIG FAT GRIN::

Funny thing is, I never had test anxiety until it came to Algebra exams. I just freeze on those suckers.

I wish I had a good bit of advice for you, but I'm still trying to figure that one out myself.

So glad you hit a B! Maybe the success will help with your anxiety. I hope it does.
