I rode a 43 mile trip today! I rode the entire West Lafayette trail system today, then out to Battleground, IN. That totaled 28 miles, then 15 miles back to Lafayette! I took about 8 hours to do it, but I wasn't in a hurry! Weather was a bit mugly, hot and sweaty! At one point I thought I was gonna get stormed on! By the way, I do have my ride computer correctly set now as my odo function only read 5% more than the statute miles listed in streets and trips! I had a head wind all the way back and that wore at me, but I did the ride!
By the way, I'd like to give a shameless plug to one of our Local Bike Shops! Hodson Bay on the Brown Street Levee in West Lafayette, IN! They have a website at
They've been of great help keeping my ol' bike working! They carry among other brands, Trek and Giant!

Oh my goodness!! WOW!! That was quite a trip! How neat!! One of these days I'm gonna have to get brave and in good shape and ride along side! Could use some fresh air and some exercise!!
Keep on bikin' buddy and I'll write a book on ya when you decide to do a national marathon trek!
Treat me to dinner if I ever ride through your town? That'd be good! I'm tentatively planning a trip to Key West by bicycle next summer. I just have to work out how I will be able to afford it is all! I've got a while though! By the way, you're welcome to join in on a ride anytime you want to!
what a trip! and I thought an 8 mile walk was impressive.
Keep on bikin'!!!
wow!! This is amazing stuff :)
It has been such a long time since I rode a bike... I think I'll get back to it... forgotten how it even feels like.
Thanks Kris! And Semantic, it feels great! It takes time to build your strength, but as you do, it feels so good! This is especially true after you "push through the wall" and exceed anything you've done pro\ior to the push! When you gert past the pain and hit your second wind so to speak, it's better than drugs! The runners or cyclists high is not only great, it's good for you too![GRIN]
